Do you Remember

Do you remember when we were attacked? Do you remember when those people ran in to save the victims? Do you remember the people who fought for our freedom, and bring the attackers and conspirators to justice? Do you remember that feeling when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, and it did? Do you remember the spark, however fleeting it was? Do you remember that moment, where people started helping each other, caring for each other and treating each other with civility and respect? Remember how through the darkest of clouds and the darkest of smoke, we became united as one, if only briefly? Do you remember when you forgot? When personal gain and importance and selfishness became more important then everything else? Do you remember, there are still those people willing to risk their lives for country and people they never met? Do you remember, because I can never forget?
