The first part of this my response to the Boston.com segment with comments. I had to be “Unshaun Like” so the censors didn’t deny my post…which it’s the Globe and they probably will anyhow…
Here is the issue. An uninvolved party sees what she believes to be a burglary in progress (Felony). She calls 911. A police officer responds and according to the report (which an officer has to assume is true until proven otherwise), two black males was forcing entry (shouldering) into a home. (Read the police report hyper link). The Sgt. (means he probably has been to a few burglary calls in his career) responds to the door and observes a black male inside the house. He does what any cop (of any race) would do...he INVESTIGATES (crime in progress in CAMBRDIGE not MAYBERRY, partial match of description of an independent witness). Now I know what you’re thinking...he should know EVERY RESIDENT IN CAMBRIDGE...it’s such a small un populated town...but he doesn’t. So, in order to gain assurance the male matching the witnesses description inside (which he could have probably proned out onto the ground considering it was believed to be a felony in progress) lives there...he asks for his IDENTIFICATION (lets face it, if he asked the guy if he lived there, and the guy said yes.....and he didn’t the officer would be answering a complaint that he didn’t properly investigation a burglary). After the male throws a temper tantrum (including calling and asking for the chief of police...I am going to call the President of Harvard University Tomorrow and I better get right through....YA RIGHT) he provides a WORK I.D. (which the officer could have demanded a state issued I.D., Harvard is not a state school so don't go down that road). The officer probably sick of this rich, over educated, empowered moron and decided to leave (AFTER GIVING HIM HIS NAME TWICE) and Professor I am going to get the last word in) FOLLOWS HIM OUT SIDE and continues to be belligerent. However, now it is on public property...and this is NOW A CRIME (refer to above crimes which I posted since half of u people apparently did not read the police report, so I did want to assume you'd look into the crimes). Nowhere in that law does is say "professors of Harvard University are exempt from this law". I won’t deny that race is an issue, but this incident is NOT. He wasn't randomly picked out of a crowd and harassed...the police were called there. Also, this Sgt. was assigned to ADMINISTRATION, which means he promoted and had common sense and good judgment. It also means that he is not just randomly driving around the city and asking people to call in fake burglaries so he can respond. I would like to have seen if this occurred different, say the home was being burglarized (for the second time, read the report) and the cop DID NOT identify the male inside...then this professor would call and complain that it wasn't investigated right (he would also probably say it wasn't investigated right because he was black..But I digress). This officer had to satisfy the investigation and he did and attempted to leave. Professor Moron decided he wasn't done...Massachusetts General Law cites that he was...under chapter 272.53. And you can argue judgment about "he is a professor, he is an upstanding citizen etc.." but if it is good enough for the loud college drunk guy who refuses to leave when told (and you call because he woke up your kids at 2:30 A.M.) then it is good enough for the professor, and me and you.
Also, what if the professors wife served him with divorce papers (and no the police don't get a copy of those) and decided he(the professor) was going to kill her (professors snap and kill too read here and forced his way into his OWN home.

See, I get pissed when someone ASSUMES racism is the reason. And I will not deny racism exists, I will not deny that prejudice is alive in well in ALL FORMS; Race, gender, age, sexual orientation, class etc. But I cannot fucking tolerate someone turning something into an issue that isn’t. THIS ISN'T RACISM.Hell, I got stopped by a black police officer before (my inspection sticker fell off, I guess Mass. Registry didn’t want to pay the extra .32 cents per million stickers. And as soon as I produced it and explained…he politely apologized and let me go. I told him he didn’t have to apologize…because it made sense as too why he stopped me. At NO POINT did I assume it was because I was white (at the time, I was around the corner from work..right in downtown Roxbury). Why, because I get the fact that they have a fucking job to do. He was a Motorcycle Cop, working traffic; I had no visible inspection sticker…END OF FUCKING LIST.
I think this guy was more aggravated about being a snobby Harvard Professor and ACTUALLY being accused of something. Here is a little advice asshole…even rich, upper crust, over educated douche bags break the law…so go pound sand. Seriously, I think Harvard needs to be petitioned to have this fucker fired…Just because he is an moron….How can you be that stupid, and work at a FUCKING SCHOOL!!!!! Ok, lets start with the most IMPORTANT QUOTE here "Obama called Gates a friend, and said he doesn't know all the facts of the case", errr...so why are you commenting. If you don't know all the facts, then WHY THE FUCK as the president of this country would you chime the fuck in. By a citizen who thought she was doing THE RIGHT THING!. The police didnt know that his house had been previously broken into and that he had to force it open after his trip. The CITIZEN did not know that his door was messed up. FOR FUCK SAKE knock it off, the lesson learned here is that if your rich, tired and feel that you don't want to deal with some middle class police sgt., then when they police goto your house to investigate a burglary in progress, show them your I.D. (they have to prove you live there so they don't leave a criminal inside to steal your shit, or worse, to attack you when you get home) and shut up. Don't follow them into public, screaming how important you are and commit a crime (Disorderly Conduct). I know that Gov. Deval Patick made some comments to, but considering I have absolutely no respect for him, I will not comment. Oh and one last quote from the president "starting with Gates apparently forgetting his keys and jimmying the door. Police responded appropriately at first"...ok so you KNOW they were supposed to be there, Gates acted like some sort of SUPER-DOUCHE and your STILL GOING TO SUPPORT HIM. If this was a middle class/poor person (pick gender an race for this statement...because it could be any or all of them). There would be no conflict. They would have been arrainged, enter a plea and no news coverage.
OH, I almost forgot, if your gonna say "Hey Shaun, why did they drop the charges" I am going to say "Its because Havard University dumps so much money into the city of Cambridge, you better believe that Gate's 1 call from Cambridge PD was to the president of Harvard saying something like "Hey, we own there middle class asses, tell them to stop", I might be paraphrasing a bit....but it was close!

One is the article in which the 2nd officer on scene with Sgt. Crowley states that the call went by the book. Also, you can watch the Lawyer from the police Union give the press confrence. My favorite part of this is Channel 5's retarded statment
"Cambridge police have been defending themselves against allegations of racial bias for arresting Gates in his own home for disorderly conduct even after officers realized he was there legally. The charge was dropped five days later."
One crime does not effect the other in this case. Yes he was NOT burglarizing his home...and that is a fact. He did however, go OUTSIDE of his home and begin ranting, raving, and yelling that all of this was racially motivated, actions that eventually amounted to an arrest for disorderly conduct. I would love them to poll EVERY COURT in the state and see how many charges are filed for disorderly conduct in a week. People would be surprised that it happenes alot. ...BUT Channel 5 won't put that one there...I didn't think so.

Here is a little hit Deval (you scumbag), Every criminal's nightmare is being arrested after committing a crime. Its not just the black guys that have to worry about it. I wouldn't have jumped on this so face (I might have) if he said "every non-white persons nightmare" but seriously if your going to scream racial profiling, involve some other races to be profiled with the black guys you ASS. Thats just as racist to imply that other races are immune to racial profiling, and only black guys are effected.
I will again maintain that I do not think that ANY of this stemmed from race (did I mention that Sgt. Crowley taught racial profiling awareness in the police academy), but if your going to twist it, don't be so racist that you think you'd be the only race effected by it. FUCK!!!! am I the only person who can see this????
Oh, and the whole "voice your opinion in your own how without risk of arrest", DEVAL, you are a lawyer, why would you start down this road. I mean all the rapists you got off in Florida, and you can't even put up a good defense for disorderly. He was OUT SIDE OF HIS HOME you douche. And he can voice his opinion in his home, howevery under Ch. 272 s. 53 of the M.G.L. if he was loud enough, and continued on in a manner that disturbed the neighborhood, he could be charged with "keeper of a disorderly house". So, he has the right to voice his opinion, just as the general public has the right to not be alarmed, annoyed and a right to peace in the neighborhood.
